Kryple - Johnny Rich

On April 25th this year, Canadian hip-hop artist Kryple will release his newest project 'Johnny Rich'. Each song on the album is a personal reflection for him, all while preserving his roots musically.

I was honored to create the cover for this. Kryple supplied a bunch of photos for the cover: pictures of himself from his childhood, to his career, to his present. I took the images into Photoshop, cropped them, and added some ripped paper edges.

Once brought back, I arranged them and added a halftone texture overlay to give a "printed" feel:

We utilized the same cover for his first single Understood, available for pre-save on Spotify.

For this cover, I changed the perspective to look like it was on an angle taken much closer with some lightleaks:
